Read First: Spa & Hot Tub Safety

  1. Seniors, pregnant women, and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should not use a spa without medical consultation and permission from their doctor.
  2. Children should use a spa only with adult supervision.
  3. Children under 6 years of age should NOT use a spa.
  4. A spa/hot tub should not be used by an unaccompanied bather.
  5. Do not use the spa while under the influence of alcohol, anticoagulants, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, stimulants, hypnotics, narcotics or tranquilizers.
  6. Always check the water temperature before entering the spa.  The maximum temperature is 104oF (40oC). Never enter if the temperature is higher.
  7. Do not soak for longer than 15 minutes in 104oF water.  In lower temperature (e.g., 98.6oF body temperature), most people can safely soak for longer periods.
  8. Long exposure times may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.
  9. Never put your head underwater while in a spa.
  10. Be sure spa is covered when not in use.  Only use covers recommended by the manufacturer.
